Factory reset is a very useful default feature which it’s in all Android devices, this feature can be very important in many hard situations, if you made some modifications, or you delete everything from your device, except the Android itself, if you we’ll go and you’ll make a factory reset, your device will look like new.
If you ask yourself “what does a factory reset do?”it’s good to know that, factory reset feature allows you to delete everything on your device (contacts, call logs, SMS messages, applications or data, have also an option to erase all information stored in the memory card (photos, videos, or any type of data stored in memory card).
When you want to sell your Android device Factory reset is a great tool, in this way your buyer don’t can access your private information, another situation when you can use the Factory Reset function it is also if your device begin to move slowly because you have installed many applications, when you make some wrong updates in your device and it’s hard to know what not work correctly, for example some firmware are not compatible with the others and they recommend you to make a Factory Reset.
It’s also very useful when updating to another firmware. Some types of firmware are not compatible with the others and they will require you to do a factory reset.
Be carefully because if you made a factory reset isn’t any way to recover your date after that, if you didn’t do a backup before.
Please note that there isn’t any way to recover data after a factory reset if you didn’t perform backups before.
For make an android backup you will normally need to have a root level access on your Android device and ClockworkMod installed

How factory reset on Android devices ?

It’s very easy to make a factory reset in your Android device:
Settings > Backup & reset > Factory data reset > Reset phone
Note: If you want to erase USB storage, you can check Erase USB storage for make this. 
After these operations, please check if in your device it’s on factory parameters and nothing remains on the smartphone.

How to Esay Update Galaxy Note 10 1 N8000 with Android 4 1 2 UBCML2 Jelly Bean Official Firmware

Now Samsung has launched another Android Jelly Bean 4.1.2 firmware update with build number bBrasil N8000XXCMI2 for the owner of the Galaxy Note 10.1 (GT-N8000). The new official update is now available as an Over-The-Air (OTA) update via Samsung Kies as well.

Samsung Galaxy Note N8000 10.1 users who missed the OTA update notification or can not access the update over Samsung Kies, can follow the step-by-step guide to install the update manually....

Pre-requisites

  • Install USB Drivers for Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 on the computer.
  • Enable USB Debugging Mode on the phone by navigating to Settings >> Developer Options.
  • Make a backup of all your important data before following the guide.
  • The Galaxy Note 10.1 should be factory unlocked and not locked to any particular carrier.
  • Ensure the battery of the phone is charged more than 80 percent.
  • The Android 4.1.2 UBCML2 Jelly Bean firmware is compatible only with the 3G + WiFi version of Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 with model number GT-N8000. Applying this to any incorrect variant might brick the device. Verify the model number of the Galaxy Note 10.1 by navigating to Settings >> About Phone.

Steps to Update Galaxy Note 10.1 N8000 with Android 4.1.2 UBCML2 Jelly Bean Firmware 

Step 1: Extract Firmware zip file using winrar/7zip/winzip or any other extracting tool, you will get a .tar.md5 file and some other files (optional).
Step 2: Extract Odin zip file and you will get Odin3 v3.07.exe along with few other files.
Step 3: Switch off the Galaxy Note 10.1.
Step 4: Boot the device into Download Mode by pressing and holding Volume Down andPower buttons together until a construction Android robot icon with a warning triangle appears on Lcd. Now press the Volume Up button to enter Download Mode.
Step 5: Run Odin on the computer as an Administrator.
Step 6: Connect the Galaxy Note 10.1 to the computer using USB cable while it is in the Download Mode. Wait until Odin detects the device. When the device is connected successfully, the ID: COM box will turn to light blue with the COM port number. Additionally, the successful connected will be indicated by a message saying Added.

Note: If the Added message does not appear, then try re-install USB drivers or changing the port on the computer.

Step 7: Select the following files in Odin from extracted N8000UBCML2 firmware folder:
  • Click the PDA button and select the .tar.md5 file.
  • Click the Phone button and select file with MODEM in its name. Ignore if there is no such file.
  • Click the CSC button and select file with CSC in its name. Ignore if there is no such file.
  • Click the PIT button and select the .pit file. Ignore if there is no such file.

Step 8: In Odin, enable Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time checkboxes. Also, ensure the Re-Partition checkbox is chosen only if a .pit file was chosen in the previous step.
Step 9: Verify everything suggested in Step 7 and Step 8 is done correctly. Then hit the Startbutton to begin the installation process.
Step 10: Once the installation process is completed, your phone will restart and soon you will see a PASS message with green background in the left-most box at the very top of the Odin. You can now unplug the USB cable to disconnect it from the computer.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 N8000 should be now updated with official Android 4.1.2 UBCML2 Jelly Bean. Head over to Settings >> About Phone to verify the software version running on the device.

Note: If Galaxy Note 10.1 N8000 stuck at booting animation after Step 10 then go to recovery mode (press and hold the Volume Up and Power buttons together) and perform Wipe data/Factory Reset and Wipe Cache Partition task before selecting reboot system now function. In recovery mode use Volume keys to navigate between options and Power key to select the option. Please note, performing wiping task will erase your device internal memory data and not external SD card data.

Samsung Galaxy Mega 6 3 I9200 I9205 Using Android 4 2 2 Jelly Bean Firmware How to Root Guide


Announced in April 2013, Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 is now available for purchase in several countries in the world. The Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 - as in a 6.3" Lcd, comes with 3G (GT-I9200) and LTE (GT-I9205) version that runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.

Followed by the market rollout, XDA-Developers member VCore has released root method for both I9200 and I9205 version of Galaxy Mega 6.3.

Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 users who wish to root their devices, may follow our step-by-step guide.

Pre-requisites
1. Install USB Driver for Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 on the computer.

Step 7: Double-check and click Start in Odin. The installation process will now begin.
Step 8: Once the installation process is completed, your phone will restart and soon you will see a PASS message with green background in the left-most box at the very top of the Odin. You can now unplug the USB cable to disconnect your device from computer.

Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 running on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean firmware is now rooted successfully. You can now install any app that requires root permission. Verify the root status of the device by downloading Root Checker app from Google Play Store.

You never know
The good thing about having root is you can go back if you want. The same is not true of not having root. We do not know what steps Google/Tmobile will take to rid the end users of root in the future. For all we know the next OTA will remove the keys that allows the RC29 downgrade method to work and you could be stuck on a non rooted G1 forever. If you have root and for some reason it does not work for you there is always the option of going back.

What Does Root Give Me?

  1. Full control over your system
  2. Ability to alter system files. You can replace many parts of the "Android Core" with this including:
    • Themes
    • Core apps (maps, calendar, clock etc)
    • Recovery image
    • Bootloader
    • Toolbox (linux binary that lets you execute simple linux commands like "ls") can be replaced with Busybox (slightly better option)
    • Boot images
    • Add linux binaries
  3. Run special apps that need more control over the system
    • SuperUser (lets you approve or deny the use of root access to any program)
    • Task Manager For Root (Lets you kill apps that you otherwise could not kill)
    • Tether apps (like the one found at [android-wifi-tether.googlecode.com])
  4. Backup your system
    • You can make a folder on your sdcard and backup all of your .apk files to your sdcard (helps if an author decides to "upgrade" you to a version that requires you to pay to use the version you just had)
  5. Relocate your (browser/maps/market) cache to your /sdcard
  6. Relocate your installed applications to your /sdcard
  7. Reboot your phone from the terminal app easily (su reboot )
What Do I Lose Having Root

  1. The ability to accept OTA updates (well, you can but you would lose root, so its been made so they get denied)
  2. The sense that someone else controls your phone
  3. The need to sit in an Android chat channel asking how to get root
  4. The need for a stupid useless "File Manager" that lets you see filenames but almost nothing else.
  5. The ability to have a knowledgeable conversation with a T-Mobile rep about your phone. (Ask one of them to spell root for you)

How to Root Galaxy S4 LTE I9505 on Android 4 3 JB Without Tripping the KNOX Warranty Void Counter


Samsung Galaxy S4 (LTE) I9505 users who have already updated their devices with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, may root their devices using the tutorial below.

This tutorial uses the Root Exploit package released by Senior XDA-Developers, k1mu. The Root Exploit package allows Galaxy S4 users to root their devices easily without tripping the KNOX warranty void counter.

Pre-requisites
1. Install USB Drivers for Samsung Galaxy S4 on the computer.
2. Enable USB Debugging Mode on the phone. Go to Settings >> About Phone. Tap on Build Number several times till the message shows "You are now a Developer". Then enable USB debugging by navigating to Settings >> Developer Options.
3. Make a backup of all your important data before following the guide.
4. Ensure the battery of the phone is charged more than 80 percent.
5. The Root Exploit package works only on the LTE version of the Galaxy S4 (GT-I9505). Applying this to any incorrect variant might brick the device. Verify the model number of the Galaxy S4 by navigating to Settings >> About Phone.

Steps to Root Galaxy S4 (LTE) I9505 Running on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean
  • Extract the Root Exploit package to the computer using WinRAR/7-Zip/WinZip or any other extracting tool.
  • Connect the Galaxy S4 to the computer using USB cable.
  •  On the computer, navigate to the extracted directory and double click "install.bat" file. You will see command prompt window which will detect your device and automatically run the scripts.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions. Once the rooting procedure completes, your phone will reboot automatically.
Thats it! Samsung Galaxy S4 (LTE) I9505 running on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean is now rooted successfully. You can now install any app that requires root permission. Verify the root status of the device by downloading Root Checker app from Google Play Store.


Note: This exploit will NOT set the KNOX warranty void flag. It will set the "Custom" flag, but thats nothing to worry about.

Rooting Samsung Galaxy Note 8 0 N5110 on Android 4 1 2 Jelly Bean with CF Auto Root

Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 N5110 can now be rooted using Chainfire’s CF Auto-Root tool. Read this entire post and make sure that you won’t skip any steps so that you will manage to successfully flash the all the required files.
Rooting your tablet will allow you to flash new custom ROMs and other files that can be used to improve its overall appearance and performance. If you root your device and you don’t like Samsung’s Nature UX TouchWiz interface, then you will be able to flash new custom ROMs that are based on Android 4.1 / 4.2 AOSP such as CyanogenMod, AOKP and other similar releases.
In order to successfully root your device, you will first need to read the guidelines below. Here’s what you need know:
  • use this tutorial only with the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 model number N5110. Don’t try to use this tutorial with any other Android device.
  • root your device only if it’s running on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean stock firmware.
  • rooting the tablet will void the warranty.
  • CF Auto Root file will install SuperSU and install a stock Recovery.
  • make sure that you have the Samsung USB Drivers installed on your PC. If you don’t have them, then you can download from here.
  • disable all the antivirus apps from running on your computer.
  • if Samsung KIES software is installed on your PC, then you should make sure to disable it when moving to the tutorial. This program will interfere with Odin and block the rooting process of your tablet.
  • make sure that you won’t skip any steps that I have listed in the tutorial.
  • enable the USB Debugging setting from the Developer Options menu. If this menu isn’t showing up in Settings, then you should open ‘About device’ and then scroll down and tap 7 times on the Build Number section. It will enable Developer Option in the Settings menu.
  • make sure that your tablet’s battery has enough power left in its battery so that it won’t switch off in the middle of the rooting process.
  • this guide is for advanced Android users, don’t blame us in case you brick the tablet or you lose any important data in the process.
  • in case you cannot complete the root, then you should ask for extra help in comments.
  • backup all the important data that you have currently stored on your tablet.
Now that you know all of the above, continue to the next part of this post and learn how to properly root your tablet.

How to root Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 N5110 on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean using CF Auto-Root:

  1. Download the CF Auto-Root tool for Galaxy Note 8.0 N5110 from HERE.
    > save the file on your PC and extract its contents to a single folder.
  2. Download Odin3 v3.07 from HERE.
    > when the download is complete, extract the files comprised within and save them in a single folder.
  3. Power off your tablet completely.
  4. Boot it into Download Mode.
    > do it by pressing Volume Down, Home and then Power buttons at the at the same time. Confirm Download Mode boot by pressing Volume Up.
  5. Launch Odin executable on your PC.
  6. Connect the tablet with your computer using the USB Data cable.
    > wait for Odin to add and recognize the device. When done, you can continue to the next part of this post.
    > if the tablet is not recognized by your computer, then you will be forced to plug the device into another USB port or reinstall the Samsung USB Drivers. The download link is listed in the preparation guide.
  7. Next, click the ‘PDA’ button in ODIN.
  8. Browse your PC for the ‘CF-Auto-Root-konawifi-konawifixx-gtn5110.tar.md5′ file and load it into Odin.
    > don’t change any default settings of ODIN.
    > make sure that the Re-Partition option is not enabled. Disable it if otherwise.
  9. Click the START button when you’re ready for the installation process.
  10. When all files are flashed and the root is complete, ODIN will say ‘PASS’ and the device will reboot.
  11. When the Samsung boot animation appears, unplug the phone from PC and wait for it to boot into normal mode.
  12. Check the App Drawer for the SuperSU app icon to confirm that the root has been applied successfully.
  13. Install any new apps that require root or start looking for custom ROMs and other customization files that you can use to improve the overall performance of your tablet.
If ODIN freezes then the root was not completed and you will be forced to disconnect the tablet from PC. Close ODIN and then repeat the entire tutorial once again making sure that you won’t skip any steps that I have listed above. If you need more help, use the comments section.
If ODIN says that the root process was ‘Passed’ but the Galaxy Note 8.0 N5110 doesn’t go past the Samsung boot animation screen, then you will have to power off the device and unplug it from PC. You will have to boot into Recovery Mode and apply factory reset. After that, the tablet will boot into normal mode correctly. If you have any other questions, then you should ask for extra help in comments.
Since this root won’t install any custom Recovery images, then you can choose to visit Google Play Store and use the Goo Manager or ROM Manager app to flash TWRP / CWM Recovery. A custom Recovery will help you install new custom ROMs and other customization files for your tablet.

Pre-requisites
1. Install USB Drivers for Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos on the computer.
2. Enable USB Debugging Mode on the phone by navigating to Settings >> Developer Options.
3. Make a backup of all your important data before following the guide.
4. The Galaxy Grand Duos should be factory unlocked and not locked to any particular carrier.
5. Ensure the battery of the phone is charged more than 80 percent.

Step 1: Extract Firmware zip file using WinRAR/7-Zip/WinZip or any other extracting tool, you will get a .tar.md5 file and some other files (optional).
Step 2: Extract Odin zip file and you will get Odin3 v3.07.exe along with few other files.
Step 3: Switch off the Galaxy Grand Duos.
Step 4: Boot the device into Download Mode by pressing and holding Volume Down, Home and Power buttons together until a construction Android robot icon with a warning triangle appears on screen. Now press the Volume Up button to enter Download Mode.
Step 5: Run Odin on the computer as an Administrator.
Step 6: Connect the Galaxy Grand Duos to the computer using USB cable while it is in the Download Mode. Wait until Odin detects the device. When the device is connected successfully, the ID: COM box will turn to light blue with the COM port number. Additionally, the successful connected will be indicated by a message saying Added.

Note: If the Added message does not appear, then try re-install USB drivers or changing the port on the computer.

Step 7: Select the following files in Odin from extracted I9082XXUBNB2 firmware folder:
  • Click the PDA button and select the .tar.md5 file.
  • Click the Phone button and select file with MODEM in its name. Ignore if there is no such file.
  • Click the CSC button and select file with CSC in its name. Ignore if there is no such file.
  • Click the PIT button and select the .pit file. Ignore if there is no such file.
Step 8: In Odin, enable Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time checkboxes. Also, ensure the Re-Partition checkbox is chosen only if a .pit file was chosen in the previous step.
Step 9: Verify everything suggested in Step 7 and Step 8 is done correctly. Then hit the Start button to begin the installation process.
Step 10: Once the installation process completes, your phone will restart and soon you will see a PASS message with green background in the left-most box at the very top of the Odin. You can now unplug the USB cable to disconnect your device from the computer.

Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos I9082 should be now updated with Android 4.2.2 XXUBNB2 Jelly Bean official firmware. Head over to Settings >> About Phone to verify the software version running on the device.

Note: If Galaxy Grand Duos I9082 stuck at booting animation after Step 10 then go to recovery mode (press and hold the Volume Up, Home and Power buttons together) and perform Wipe data/Factory Reset and Wipe Cache Partition task before selecting reboot system now function. Samsung Galaxy S4 ACTIVE shv e470s Android 4 2 2 Jelly Bean Firmware Using How To Rooting Guide

Use this tutorial only with the Samsung Galaxy S4 ACTIVE shv-e470s smartphone.
CAUTION:THIS ROOTING METHOD IS ONLY FOR THE KOREAN VERSION SHV-E470S!!!

It was tested successfully on Samsung Galaxy S4 Active SHV-E470S Android version 4.2.2
Firmware version:E470SKSUANA1
Abstract:
Do not attempt to root any other smartphones with the files that you wil find in this articles.
This tutorial is destined to be used by advanced Android users.
I won’t be blamed in case you brick the phone or lose any data in the process!!!
Rooting the Galaxy S4 ACTIVE SHV-E470S will revoke its warranty. If you want to restore your phones warranty then you will need to flash an official Samsung Android ROM OS.
Pre-requisites :
  1. Download and install the Samsung USB Drivers on your computer
  2. Disable Samsung KIES program if you have it installed on your computer
  3. Disable any antivirus applications from running on your computer
  4. Enable USB Debugging from Developer Options.
    • If Developer Options doesn’t appear in Settings, then you need to enable it.
    • go to Settings, then More, open About Device.
    • tap seven times on the Build Number.
    • you will now be enabling Developer Option, go back to main Settings section, scroll down and enable USB Debugging
  5. Check your phone’s battery and make sure that there is at least 50% left before the device switches off
  6. Read the entire post, don’t skip any steps and the guide should be completed in under ten minutes with success.
  7. In case you have trouble completing the guide, then you are free to ask for extra help in comments
  8. Download required files (see attachments)
Process:
1. Copy the "UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.93.zip" into your phone internal or external memory
2. Extract the contents of the Odin zip file and place them on your computer’s desktop screen.
3. Power off the Galaxy S4 active shv-e470s now.
4. After that you have to boot the device in Android Download Mode (press and hold: volume down,home and power buttons}
5. Launch Odin on your PC as administrator
6. Connect the phone with your computer via USB cable.(make sure antivirus+firewall is now disabled!!)
7. Wait for ODIN to detect your device,(you should see the "added" message) then continue to the next step.
8. If the phone is not recognized by your PC, then you should re-install the Samsung USB Drivers.
9. Go to ODIN’s main window, click on PDA and then find the "unofficial_philz_touch_6.12.8-e470s.tar" Load it in ODIN.
10. Do not change any other Odin default settings
11. Make sure that the Re-Partition option is not enabled
12. When ready, hit the START button for the process to begin.
13. Don’t press any buttons until the process is complete
14. When ODIN completes the process it will show the PASS alert, then the phone will reboot in normal mode. You can unplug the device from PC when the Samsung Galaxy S4 active shv-e470s boot animation screen loads.
15. Now power off your phone again and boot in recovery mode (press and hold: volume up,home and power buttons)
16. Once in recovery mode,find and install the "UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.93.zip" .To do this,in the recovery menu choose the "install zip" option and then find the directory u have saved the zip file and choose it for installing.
17. Wait for the process to finish and then ur phone will reboot.once reboot u can download "root checker" from play store and verify that u have root access.

How to Root UBALK2 Android 4.1.1 Firmware on Galaxy Camera GC100 - If you have updated your Galaxy Camera GC100 to UBALK2 Android 4.1.1 firmware and now want to root it, then follow the guide after the jump.
Before we proceed with guide, make sure:
  • You have installed your Camera EK-GC100 USB drivers on your PC.
  • You need to enable USB debugging mode which is deactivated by default.
  • You camera should have 70-80% charge remaining.

  1. Download Odin v3.09.
  2. Extract Firmware zip file that you downloaded earlier from above link, you will get a .tar.md5 file and some other files (optional).
  3. Extract Odin zip file and you will get Odin3 v3.09.exe along with few other files.
  4. Power off your Android device. Wait 5-6 seconds for vibration to confirm complete switch off.
  5. Now, put the Galaxy Mega 5.8 GT-I9150 in Download Mode by pressing and holding down the Home &Volume Down button together while pressing the Power button. A warning screen will come up; press Volume Up button to enter Download Mode.
  6. Now run Odin3 v3.09.exe (see Step 3) as an Administrator because Admin privileges is required to complete the process smoothly (only applicable Windows Vista and higher).
  7. Now connect your device to your PC using USB cable. An “Added!!” massage will appear in Odin’s message box.   9. In Odin window, make sure only Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time checkboxes are selected.
  10. Double check everything that we mentioned in Step 8 & Step 9 above. Now, once satisfied hit the START button to begin the flashing process.
  11. Once flashing completed, your Galaxy Mega 5.8 GT-I9150 will restart and soon you will see a PASS message with green background in the left-most box at the very top of the Odin. You can now unplug the USB cable to disconnect your device from computer.
Congrats! You just updated your Galaxy Mega 5.8 GT-I9150 to Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean firmware. Go to Settings > About device to verify this firmware update.

How to Root Galaxy S4 SGH M919 on Android 4 3 JB Without Tripping the KNOX Warranty Void Counter


This tutorial uses the Root Exploit package released by Senior XDA-Developers, k1mu. The Root Exploit package allows Galaxy S4 users to root their devices easily without tripping the KNOX warranty void counter.

Pre-requisites

1. Install USB Drivers for Samsung Galaxy S4 on the computer.

3. Make a backup of all your important data before following the guide.

Steps to Root Galaxy S4 (T-Mobile) SGH-M919 Running on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean

  • On the computer, navigate to the extracted directory and double click "install.bat" file. You will see command prompt window which will detect your device and automatically run the scripts.

You must have a supported version of custom recovery installed to flash your favorite ROM. Two most renowned name in custom recovery is ClockworkMod recovery and TWRP recovery. However, there are few other free recoveries that mainly based on CWM recovery or TWRP recovery such as SafeStrap, Boot Menu Manager (BMM) or Philz Touch recovery. As said already, you require to have latest supported custom recovery if you want to do advance task such as installation of latest custom ROMs or MODs. Before contenuing how to install latest version of ClockworkMod recovery or TWRP recovery easily, we first need to know little bit about stock recovery.
Nearly all Android devices ship with a recovery console that is basically a partition on the device’s internal memory and can be booted into. The stock recovery of almost all Android devices provides a few basic yet handy options that allow you to factory reset your device and also to recover its operating system using an official ROM in zip format, but that’s all you can do with it. ClockworkMod recovery which developed by Kush, is the first custom recovery that catch the attention. The earlier version of CWM recovery don’t comes with touch feature (but now available in touch supported version) and to fulfill the gap the first touch supported custom recovery TWRP introduced. Recently, developer Phil3759 rolled out an advance version of CWM recovery which we call PhilZ Touch 6 Recovery. It remove the boaringness of custom recovery by offering various colourful customization features.

In this page I will offer you an easy to follow installation guide of CWM recovery (currently the latest version is 6.0.4.7) and TWRP recovery (currently the latest version is 2.6.3.3). PhilZ Touch 6 Recovery comes with different installation option for various manufactured models, that’s why I unable to offer a guide on it. The installation guide I discussed here require a rooted device, so you must have a rooted Android smartphone or tablet. This tutorial should work most devices including latest Galaxy S4, Xperia Z or HTC One.
How To install latest CWM recovery on Most Android devices
  1. Download and install ROM manager app from Play Store. It’s available for free.
  2. Then tap on Recovery Setup and select ClockworkMod Recovery under Install or Update Recovery.
  3. Next confirm your device and in very next screen tap on Flash ClockworkMod Recovery.
  4. The app then download the recovery from internet and then ask for Superuser permission. Allow the app Superuser permission and wait till you see a Success massage.
  5. Now go back to ROM Manager main screen and tap on Reboot into Recovery. Confirm your action and soon your Android device boot into ClockworkMod recovery non-touch version. For need to purchase the touch version or find a flashable copy of it.
That’s it! Your Android device now have latest version (that available for your device through ROM Manager) of CWM recovery installed. You can jump between recovery option through volume rocker and select an option using Power button (in some cases Home button).If you bought the touch version then you can operate through touch. One thing you should note, ROM Manager only offer latest officially supported version of recovery. You can always flash unofficially released CWM recovery to obtain a newer version.
How To install latest TWRP recovery on Most Android devices
You already learned installation steps for CWM recovery. Now, if you want a touch enabled custom recovery and unable to purchase or find touch version of CWM recovery for your device then try TWRP recovery aka TeamWin Recovery Project.One thing I like about TWRP is the User Interface. The big icons really come handy.
  1. Download and install GooManager app from Play Store. It’s available for free.
  2. Now open GooManager app then hit Menu button and later tap on Install OpenRecoveryScript from pop-up menu.
  3. Then confirm your action and follow on screen instruction. Select right device if various variant available. The app then download an .img file of TWRP and install it on your device.
  4. Once done, tap on Reboot recovery to boot into recovery. Confirm your action and soon you will see touch enabled TWRP screen.
That’s it. You now know how to flash custom recovery such as ClockworkMod recovery or TWRP on your Android device. Once done, go and find some custom ROM to enjoy your first modified OS experience.
An interesting note is, recently developer DsLNeXuS from XDA develop an App called Recovery Tool which find and flash latest version of your choice of recovery between CWM recovery and TWRP. This way you can save your precious time. However, since the app is very new, you may not see support for all devices that you own. The app also allow you to flash a recovery from your phone’s internal or external memory.

Android 4 3 Jelly Bean update for Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE model released S3 version coming soon

The Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for the Samsung has S4 has begun to roll out to its international models this week.
The latest Android 4.3. 1 official firmware has been releaesd by Samsung for Galaxy S4 I9500 and I9505 models, which includes the LTE models.
Samsung Galaxy S4 owners in Germany with the unlocked GT-19505 model have already received the OS update. Updates to Galaxy S4 users in North America will be available shortly.
The upgrade brings compatibility with the Galaxy Gear smartwatch, and provides a friendlier user interface with improved graphics performance, stability and security.

Users must beware that once their device is upgraded to Android 4.3, downgrading is not a possibility due to security concerns.

Pre-requisites

1. Install USB Drivers for Samsung Galaxy S3 on the computer.
2. Enable USB Debugging Mode on the phone by navigating to Settings >> Developer Options.
3. Make a backup of all your important data before following the guide.
4. The Galaxy S3 should be factory unlocked and not locked to any particular carrier.
5. Ensure the battery of the phone is charged more than 80 percent.
6. The Android 4.3 XXUGML2 Jelly Bean firmware is compatible only with the international version of Samsung Galaxy S3 (GT-I9300). Applying this to any incorrect variant might brick the device. Verify the model number of the Galaxy S3 by navigating to Settings >> About Phone.

Steps to Update Galaxy S3 I9300 with Android 4.3 XXUGML2 Jelly Bean Firmware 

Step 1:
Extract Firmware zip file using winrar/7zip/winzip or any other extracting tool, you will get a .tar.md5 file and some other files.
Step 2: Extract Odin zip file and you will get Odin3 v3.07.exe along with few other files.
Step 3: Switch off the Galaxy S3.
Step 4: Boot the device into Download Mode by pressing and holding Volume Down, Homeand Power buttons together until a construction Android robot icon with a warning triangle appears on screen. Now press the Volume Up button to enter Download Mode.
Step 5: Run Odin on the computer as an Administrator.
Step 6: Connect the Galaxy S3 to the computer using USB cable while it is in the Download Mode. Wait until Odin detects the device. When the device is connected successfully, the ID: COM box will turn to light blue with the COM port number. Additionally, the successful connected will be indicated by a message saying Added.

Note: If the Added message does not appear, then try re-install USB drivers or changing the port on the computer.
Step 7: Select the following files in Odin from extracted I9300XXUGML2 firmware folder:
  • Click the PDA button and select the .tar.md5 file.
  • Click the Phone button and select file with MODEM in its name. Ignore if there is no such file.
  • Click the CSC button and select file with CSC in its name. Ignore if there is no such file.
  • Click the PIT button and select the .pit file. Ignore if there is no such file.

Step 8: In Odin, enable Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time checkboxes. Also, ensure the Re-Partition checkbox is chosen only if a .pit file was chosen in the previous step.
Step 9: Verify everything suggested in Step 7 and Step 8 is done correctly. Then hit the Startbutton to begin the installation process.
Step 10: Once the installation process is completed, your phone will restart and soon you will see a PASS message with green background in the left-most box at the very top of the Odin. You can now unplug the USB cable to disconnect your device from the computer.

Samsung Galaxy S3 I9300 should be now updated with official Android 4.3 XXUGML2 Jelly Bean. Head over to Settings >> About Phone to verify the software version running on the device.

Note: If Galaxy S3 I9300 stuck at booting animation after Step 10 then go to recovery mode (press and hold the Volume Up, Home and Power buttons together) and perform Wipe data/Factory Reset and Wipe Cache Partition task before selecting reboot system now function. In recovery mode use Volume keys to navigate between options and Power key to select the option. Please note, performing wiping task will erase your device internal memory data and not external SD card data.

The Galaxy S4 should be released worldwide late April/ early May but, it seems like developers and hackers started to get their hands of devices already. The I9500XXUAMCH firmware files have been leaked and it confirms the Android 4.2.2 JDQ39 Jelly Bean as stock ROM.
The entire System of the Samsung Galaxy S4 I9500 is huge, as it measures 2.2 GB when unpacked and it will take some time before the download is complete.
